Artists and Activities

The Atlantic Coast Theatre (A.C.T.) For Youth is celebrating 14 Years of bringing quality professional touring theatre to young audiences and families across the United States.  As a member of the Florida State Touring Roster since 2006, A.C.T. For Youth has had the opportunity to perform for presenters throughout Florida who rely upon the mark of quality that the roster signifies.  Since 1999, A.C.T. For Youth has given over 2000 Performances for more than 650,000 audience members in 18 U.S. States.

A.C.T. is a central Florida-based Professional Touring Theatre for Young Audiences & Families.  The  company produces imaginative live theatrical productions that tour to performing arts centers, theatres, schools, libraries, festivals, and museums.  Scripts are creatively adapted from literature, history, and legend, and presented in a way that is both accessible to young children and challenging to older students.  Elementary age students are the primary audience.  Middle School students and families make up the remainder of A.C.T. For Youth’s audience base.  While always entertaining,  A.C.T. For Youth shows are also thought provoking and educational, encouraging students and their families to think about themselves and the world around them.  After a recent performance, a teacher wrote, "Thank you so much for today!  The show was fabulous and my kids were SOOO excited when we returned to the room.  They loved it!"

Shows are performed by the husband and wife team of Don Gruel and Noel Holland .  Each has over 18 years of experience in professional theatre with a large focus of their work being in Theatre for Young Audiences.  Additionally, a wide selection of Hands-On Theatre Workshops and Residency Programs are available.
